Will provide adequate electricity if people cooperate: Govt | KNO

Srinagar, Mar 28 (KNO): The government on Saturday said that they will provide round-the-clock electricity if consumers will use it judiciously. According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the Union Minister of Power, R.K.Singh, in his order today stated that the repayment of loans and interest has been deferred for three months to ensure 24×7 electricity supply during the lockdown. In wake of the order, Chief Engineer Power Development Department (PDD), Aijaz Ahmad Khan told –KNO that they will also provide adequate and round-the-clock electricity to the people in case they use it judiciously. “We are already supplying 1400 MW electricity to the people after the commissioning of Alesteng grid station,” he said, adding that the people yesterday had resorted to overload when it was raining. “Let people cooperate, we will also provide adequate electricity during the lockdown period,” he said –(KNO)
